Guide Dogs has issued advice on fireworks for dog owners ahead of Bonfire Night, as new data reveals that pet owners said their dogs were more scared of fireworks than being left alone or going to the vet. 

The Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB), Guide Dogs, Visionary, VICTA, Fight for Sight and Vision UK are working together to provide blind and partially sighted people with easy to access high-quality information about sight loss.

New figures show that three-quarters of guide dog owners (76%) have been illegally turned away by businesses and services, such as taxis, restaurants, shops, cafes, hotels and pubs.

People who are blind and partially sighted are being shut out of society, but members of the public could help end this isolation if they understood more about everyday life with sight loss.
